I had the pleasure of shooting engagement pictures for Angela & Charles yesterday evening. Charles' mom took care of the session for them and I learned it was because after FIVE years together, she didn't have a single photo of the two of them together!!
We met at Adams Ricci Park in Enola and I made the mistake of parking at the bottom of the park because my husband and my kiddos were going to wait for me at the playground while I shot my session. I walked up the hill to the gazebo and was quickly reminded that I am out of shape and 25 weeks pregnant!! Generally these days I do forget I'm growing a human and I'm constantly standing on chairs, stone walls, or walking up big hills!!
We got a lot of beautiful shots, but Angela had specifically asked in our pre-session chats if I'd get some waterfront pictures of them. However, the waterfront in this case was down the nature trail. WAY. FAR. DOWN. I am ALWAYS willing to work some gorgeous shots, so I obliged. The walk down the steep hill was easy peasy.
We snapped some fun shots at the creek, including my latest favorite (see below). The walk back up proved to be quite the challenge. I was pretty positive I was going to pass out and told Angela & Charles to at least grab my SD card from my camera so they had their pictures if I didn't make it back up!! Luckily, we all survived. I got lots of beautiful pictures. And my clients were total sweethearts that pitied the poor, out of breath pregnant lady and I got to hitch a free ride back to my car!!
Check out a few of my favorites from their session below!
Do you ever look at Pinterest pictures and think "We could never pull that off!" or "We can't afford to dress like that!"?
I'm always seeing moms post in groups asking for help styling their families for photo shoots. It's so helpful to get outside advice from friends and an extra set of eyes to know what looks best.
As your photographer, I am here to help you style your sessions as well. You are always welcome to send me a text or a Facebook message with your outfits or to solicit ideas!
So, I was at WalMart last night and saw SO MANY great outfit pieces that'd be perfect for Fall Family Sessions!! I wanted to share what I found with you to help you dress your family for under $20 for kids and $30 for adults!!! Plus, these pieces can easily be worked into your every day wardrobe after your sessions and you'll all coordinate beautifully.
The best tip I can give you is to avoid MATCHING and focus on COORDINATING. Second, pick one pattern and work everyone else's outfits from that. I personally choose my own outfit first because I'm the hardest to shop for. Followed by my kids and always my husband last because he is simple!
I hope these gave you some great visuals for fall inspiration and as always, if you need help styling your session, feel free to reach out!! --- Kate
