It's hard to believe 2021 is 3/4 of the way over! It's been such a wild and amazing year for Kate McCord Photography. First up as I try to get my blog back up and running is the first wedding of 2021.
Lexi & Ben got married in late March at Historic King Mansion in Harrisburg, PA. The mansion sits facing Front Street and the Susquehanna River. It was a perfect day!!

"When J and I met everything was so easy; I felt like I knew him for years after just our first date. He is probably the most generous, kindest man I’ve ever known... I’ve definitely won the lottery with him!"
When I met Melissa and Jordan in the back alley behind Collusion Tap Works, I had no idea I was in for such a fun, sweet session. And her words are so true, they were EASY. And no, not as Melissa said Jordan would assume, not easy "like a bunch of hussies." (insert my old lady laughing/crying emoji here) Easy like effortless.
Jordan and Melissa's relationship has been a whirlwind and they wouldn't have it any other way. They met and fell for each other quickly, only to find that they were expecting a little baby gremlin in June! However to meet them, you'd never know their love is still "new." They just click together and fit. Our conversation was easy and they worked seamlessly into each prompt I threw at them for photos!
One of their first dates included a steep uphill hike to a gorgeous vista. Melissa hiked the whole way to the top and Jordan told her that she passed "the test." Their next test together comes this summer when they will welcome their baby boy into the world. (AND little did I know that this session was MY interview to be the newborn photographer for this little dude!)
have no doubts that they are going to crush this and every adventure together with the "easy" feeling that they get and give to others. And I simply cannot wait to jump onto Platform 9 and 3/4 to take the train to Hogwarts and meet their new little muggle. (Did I mention that M is a HUGE Harry Potter fan and is working on converting J into one as well??)
I love when I get to follow my client's through many life journeys. I met Jennie when she reached out to have me do a photo session of her mom and dad. Her parents were the SWEETEST and I just loved getting to know them during their session!!
Fast forward and Jennie reached out to me to shoot her maternity session for her miracle baby! A sweet baby girl <3
Not only did I get the pleasure of doing Jennie's maternity session with her husband and her son, Carter....I also got to come back to document Baby Cora when she was born in January!
During these newborn sessions, I always like to make sure I give big brother or sister lots of attention, especially right when I arrive. I know from my own three kiddos that bringing home a new baby really rocks their sibling's entire world!!
So when I arrived at their home, I greeted Carter and immediately he was showing me all of his amazing toys and his big collection of Spiderman toys! He was absolutely so sweet with his mama and baby sister and did such a wonderful job being part of the pictures also.
We even got to include their dog in the session, which I seriously love! Pets are wonderful siblings too and definitely part of the family.
What did your big kids think when you brought your new baby home? Did they ask you to return them to the hospital? Or were they super protective and cuddly?
Both of my boys were amazing when their sister came home and just wanted to love up on her and cuddle with me. There's nothing sweeter than seeing your babies loving on your baby!
